    Crankbait line?

which matters most the diameter of the line or line strength? I have some 10 pd stren that has a larger diameter than 12 pd p-line cx, the p-line is also fluorocarbon coated. i figured the p-line would get a crankbait deeper, what do you all think?

Pline and Yozuri Hybrid have the strongest breaking strenght to diameter of any line I've ever tested. You can tell very little by what is claimed on the package. Pline Floroclear in 12# is the same diameter as Yozuri in 10#. Both brake of at 15# of weigth attached.

My default lines are Yozuri Hybrid in 10# or 12# (breaks at 18lbs). If I need to get really deep, I will drop down to 8#(breaks at 12.5lbs). I'm also experimenting with 16# pure FC lines hoping the extra diameter will be offset by its Sinking quality. Only time will tell how I like the pure FC.

My choice for deeper crank baits. Two . spider wire stealth20/6 and power pro 15/4. Small diameter, add a 6 ft 10 0r 15 lb flouro, and you wont regret it. But if you are going to throw sammys or top waters, take off the leader, the fluro will make these baits not work as well because it sinks.Justloosen the drag, and sweep instead of jerk setting the hook. You will be able to set the hooks on a 50 ft cast with no problems.

I really like any type of Silver Thread line...It has super low diameter and NO memory..I like their flourocarbon line even better....Silver Thread AN40 is good as well...
I would be cautious of using braid on crankbaits due to braided line having no stretch...This will lead to hooks pulling out and will get hung more....Braid is fine for shallow cranking or crnking grass, but on normal ledge or structure cranking stick with mono, copolymer, or FC...

Silver Thread 12, 10, and 8 are my only choices....
