    Re: Reverand Wright/obama

Road toad what is different David Duke was not Reagan mentor for twenty years nor was he on his campaign committee. You can not think a church like this will ever help the colored. This kind of stupidity will cause the racial divide to last for ever and O bama supports it by going to church there. Oprah went there and quit because she could not support their teachings.

    Re: Reverand Wright/obama

Col, glad to see you step up and admit his religion is relevant after all (but really it isn't unless baby eating is involved). Your attempt to dodge questions before they're even asked shows you're making progress. Slow and painful, but progress. BTW, even if OB were deep in his heart a racist, as BS aside most people are to some degree, I'm figgering he's prolly smart enough not to say it. While I'm at it, who the heck is Col Forbin? Is it some kind of code? Someone you know or admire? Phish's Gamehendge character? What?

Andrew, it seems you notice the frightened Republicans playing dirty tricks on your guy, but fail to notice Hillary, BO, CNN (Commie News Network), and the rest of the liberal media BBQing conservatives. Guess they're only dirty tricks when you want them to be.

I don't need any reason to dislike his agenda other than the fact BO is the most liberal politician this side of San Francisco. (I'll go way out on a limb here and assume he has an agenda other than of course oft mentioned CHANGE.) I find his endorsement by Ted Kennedy more abhorent than his membership in a racist church and it's idiot pastor. IMO, Barack Hussein Obama is simply not President of the United States material, the very thought of him as Commander-in-Chief makes me cringe. Sorry, folks his middle name just sorta slipped out.

It is nice to know the enlightened among us wouldn't vote for him if he were a devil worshiper or baby eater though. Gotta draw the line somewhere, after all enlightenment only goes so far.

Finally, I'll say this to all you squares, fuddy duddies, and narrow minded people out there. Once and for all, OB is not a racist, neither is his pastor, and and neither is Hillary. You can only be a racist in America if you're a white male. Get that through your thick heads, and don't make me say it again.

Now if Obama starts making comments that are racist - then I will be here agreeing with you guys. I agree - this preacher is out there, a little radical, and I definintely would not be a part of his church. I think calling Obama a racist because his preacher has made some crazy comments is insane.
    Col,
I KNOW your smart enough to realize that he cannot say anything racist in public so that stops that argument in it's tracks. BTW...He did mention at a recent debate when asked if he considers Bill Clinton the first black Presidient...he said (can't quote it word for word) well, until I see him dance as well as other things (what's that mean?) I couldn't comment if he was a brother or not. Maybe not racist but let a White candidate say that and see what hapens.
Anyway, why can't the american public make a decision on this guy by who he hangs with? Is he off limits because he is Black?
Don't we all do that in everyday life? We do it with our kids, friends and family then why not our political leaders? I mean we don't associate with people we don't like do we? Do you? The answer is no. We invite friends and associates into our circle of friends because we agree on alot of things.
I know if I asked my Pastor to marry me it would be because I love the Church and respect the Pastor. He cannot distance himself from this the Republicans won't let go that's the way this works.

    Re: Reverand Wright/obama

I must have hit a nerve. There are some double standards in america that I don't agree with. However, my main point that I was making before I came under attack here, is that (especially evident on this site) the only people I see overly concerned with this issue are the ones who would not even consider voting for Obama in the first place. Can any of you posting on here honestly say you were going to vote for Obama (if he gets the Dem. nod) before this can to be public knowledge - has this persuaded your vote.

On a lighter note, can you really prove someone is guilty by association? G.W. Bush has been surrounded by smart people his entire life, you would think some of that would have rubbed off somewhere down the line.

I stand by GB being Intelligent he just acts and presents himself as goofy. The only nerve you have hit with me is that Democrats will not admit that this Church issue is a big problem, I find it amazing that you guy's can look the other way. Is it just a protest vote? You hate Bush so you will blindly follow someone who is at the other end of the spectrum? I know it looks like attacks but it's not. I agree there is a double standard in most things in life and I'm ok with that because if I didn't accept it I would go nut's!
I would not vote for BO but to be fair I really wasn't pulling for McCain either but I will vote for him because a Democrat is not the answer. I just strongly disagree with the Democrats and their beliefs. Col, just get crazy and vote Republican you don't have to tell anyone! lol..

    Re: Reverand Wright/obama

Point taken, I would not vote for BO. Were he the only candidate in the race, I'd abstain.

Came under attack? Where's the stinging counter-attack then? Come on man, don't disappoint us here.

Far as BO having very few negatives, I'll concede that point as well. Seems to me he has very few of anything except charisma. Or is it gravitas? Whatever, he's got an awful lot of people fooled. Change? Plenty of pols before him preached change, nothing new there. Socialism? There's another socialist in the race, Hillary Clinton. Move along folks, nothing to see here...

I guess a couter attack is not in my passive, liberal, hippie, hands around the campfire, make love not war nature. LOL

I didn't mean to sound as though I was taking personal offense. I got some thick skin - and I know I represent the minority in terms of political views on here, so I can take it.

I will vote Dem regardless, just as I am sure many of you will vote republican regardless. I also don't think Obama is the best Dem out there - just as many of you die-hard Republicans will agree that McCain is not their personal preference for the GOP. All I hope is whoever it is that wins, they can lower my gas prices so I can fish more!

WOW!! some of you wonder why kentucky ranks at the bottom in education. After reading some replies here it's plain to see why. There are a few exceptions though it's easy to see who has common sense and who doesn't....... who is a bush apologist and who isn't and so on and on.

I'd think some of you might be tired of being screwed by this government but from the looks of it you ain't had enought yet....so carry on since we ain't reached the bottom yet.........

    I'll be back later....................

    PL,
Why is it that all you do is jump on here and throw out junk and then run? We have tried to get your educated opinion several times and you don't respond what gives? It's just adults discussing politics no need to get uptight.
Screwed by this government? Name me one that hasn't screwed someone?
Does more money help the education system? Let us know how you see things heck you might have some great points that we can discuss.

    Re: Reverand Wright/obama

When I posted the other thread about the Church I knew some of the bile that their preacher was spilling out. There's an old saying, if it looks like crap and feels like crap and smells like crap, then guess what it's probably crap. If you get up every Sunday to go listen to and cheer for a radical luenitic, well than guess what............??????? Obama has no idea how to run this country, none what so ever. For somebody to say I'm voting for Hussein just because he's a Dem is nuts. If there was a clear choice for greatness in the White House I would vote for that person regardless of political affliation. I'm just a poor dumb ignorant po-dunk redneck hillbilly from Oldham County, but I'm smart enough to know Obama is NOT THE ANSWER for this country. BTW PL you have been served by the boyz.

    Re: Reverand Wright/obama

Just a couple of questions. How old is Rev Wright? Like, would he have been around for Jim Crow laws and such? Not that it condones racism, but would give some perspective on why he may feel the way he does.

Devil's Horse, I have stated previously that Billary slings crap.

See, there are some political things that we can agree on :-)

PL, you are welcome to stop by and share your opinions and partake of the discussion. If your intent is just to start crap, I'll start removing all of your posts.
