Well this is a two fold post one is has anyone fished buckhorn lake, if so what is the best game to play I was told they have all the usual fish and muskie to go along with it. What is the best game to chase on this small lake. Now for part two. My wife has started to go to college after the factory she had worked for 14 years decided it liked mexican food prices better. Well this week was her spring break, she broke one rule though she picked me up after clinic and told me we were packed and ready to go, and like an old husband I took her word for it, (no fishing equipment!!!). Well we traveled over to Buckhorn State Park and got a room this is the first time in 11 years we have been on a trip by ourselves. No family, grandkids, inlaws, just the two of us. Well we ate alot slept alot and I even chased her around the room a lot and once in awhile she let me catch her. it was a good week. We did a lot of riding around and checking out some of the local waters like Carr lake and some of the rivers and creeks. I can not wait to get back in a month or so and do some fishing. I did find one unexpected thing on this trip, the village of Buckhorn down at the lakes spillway. This is one of the nicest friendliest towns I have ever been to, every single person treated us like long lost friends and were always willing to help out with suggestions of what to do and where to go. So if you go over that way check out this little town it will renew your faith in mankind and remind you of how the world should be. Small town USA and it not in a country video!
