Cumberland at Burkesville Update

I just talked to Chuck Strange and he is feeling better and will open the shop up for the spring on Thursday.
Chuck is on the Liver Transplant list and has some friends helping him out until he can come back to work full time.
Chuck tells me that they are catching some BIG White Bass on the cumberland river right now at Burkesville, as well as some smaller stripers.
Walleye run is on also. River is WAY UP, which is bad news for the fly fishing guys but the fishing is excellent right now.

I have checked the river the past 4 days.You are risking your boat at the burkesville ramp.The ramp is completly under water, you are in effect launching from the road.I havedone it, but its a bear getting back on the trailerbecause of the current.Since I fish alone, I'll wait for another few days, the water is clear, but very swift.The trees along the bank are in the water, and the fishing platform is under water.
