They were on Cumberland. I had more than one good day. I did catch 5+ smallie and 4.10 largemouth one day. I was catching limits of a mix of smallie keepers, largemouth, and Ky's. Most of the fish came fishing only 5-7 feet deep in the creeks. I do disagree on whether a pattern is working if you catch them ALL the time or not. NO ONE BAIT will catch them all the time. I've been fishing the fly 8 years now and it will WACK them at times. However, it's not the only bait I throw in the winter. I love to crank and jig but the fly produces BIG fish in most situations when the water if below 50.
I don't know the lake as well as some, but I usually catch a few. mhall, the fly is NOT a fluke.....I'm just on here tellin' guys about a different way to catch BIG fish......not a MAGIC bait just a time proven technique to catch fish. There's a time and place for everything and I won't limit myself to just one frame of mind.
