Lake Monroe tailwater fishing

Lake Monroe is currently 7ft above summer pool and rising fast from the monsoon this week. A couple friends and I want to fish below the dam tomorrow afternoon but dont know if it will be worth it if they are pumping water out of the lake as fast as they can.

Has anyone fished below the dam before, and would it even be worth going out there tomorrow since they are probably letting out a multitude of water? Also any recommendations on how to catch fish down there??

Well i know the shad are up there right now. I'll be going today trying to catch a few cats or wipers. I'm not sure though, it could be chocolate milk for all I know.
