    Re: Casino Gambling in KY--predictions?

    My prediction?It will happen

Anyone looked at Beshears campaigns money trail? It will happen or he will starve every Kyian out.

I'd vote for it because i like to gamble but it won't solve anything, look at Vegas right now and think of the traffic they get.Beshear blew smoke up everyones posterior and most are still to "smoky" to realize it.

What a joke though wasn't it?1 PLAN and IF IT FAILS???????????

So its going to cause social problems? like what? There are already crack addicts and meth addicts all over the state. Every week there is the court docket, and most of it is for DUI, and this is a dry county. It will create jobs for some hard working folks, but the lazy red necks wont work them.If this guy that was elected, is such a crook, how come he beat such an outstanding incumbent? And if that incumbent was so astute and honest, why the heck are we in a budget crunch the first day the new gov takes office. Some folks just believe everything a politician tells them, if they belong to that party. there is an old saying that is absolutly true. " you can tell when a politician is going to lie, his or her lips move" You can bet the house on that!

I want to get one thing perfectly clear with you guys. I THINK ALL POLITICIANS ARE LIEING, CHEATING, MONEY GRUBBING NO COUNT PIECES OF SH!T. I ALWAYS HAVE AND I ALWAYS WILL. Now that I've got that off my chest I feel much better now. Give this Democat versus Republican thing a rest they are all thieves and lieing trash that's why they are in politics. A buddy of mine lives right next door to a State Rep., which I will leave nameless. He occasionally will have an adult beverage with us and the more he has the more loose lipped he becomes. This so called budget crisis is an absolute joke and another lie. According to him it's how funds are allocated and if you put your own spin to it you can call it anything you like. Again according to him there is NO budget crisis, all made up by the Bequeer administration to get money for his special interest, and guess what I believe it and it has absolutely nothing to do with my party lines.

I totally ageree with your description of politicains. i'm glad that the gov is sticking it to williams every chance he gets.but that bozowill be re-elected in this district, and then maybe the gov can really stick it to us folks in this district. That last turkey not only raised the fishing fees, he also wanted a launch fee, which after awhile I thought would be a good idea, if t6he money was spent to improve facilities. Then leasing the state park marina to a private concern frosted m,y ass, I'll never go back to that ramp again, and I hope the budget crunch causes that guy to loose his ass. If i'm right, that particular owner was the one who got the ball rolling allowing private operators to charge launch fees, on corp lakes, and letting them get away with not returning off road gasoline fees to customers. But it isn't only KY, the place I usd to launch my boat to fish lake michigan, closed the ramp, because there was a river boat docked there, they all sell us down river republican or democrat.

Hey maybe they will put in a casino in cumberland county, at least we will get someplace to have a decent meal, instead of the "choke and puke" places we now have.

Have no doubt. Kentucky will have "gaming" We have to call it "gaming" to fool you Kentucks into believing it's some sort of ball, round or football with which to play. Gaming sounds so much better than "gambling"

Vote against it and defeat it. The issue will arise year after year until it passes. Then try and get the devil out of your State

I lived in Clark County,Indiana and the "boat" was defeated in the first election. I then moved to Floyd County and again the issue was defeated.
Then Harrison county passed the issue and the boat was located 20 feet over the county border. My bad. Floyd County Indiana could have received the larger of the boat refenues.

How many times have you read in the local papers about Preachers, good citizens, etc embezzling from their employers to "game" on the boat. Yes, there are monies to be made in the boat but none of you will ever see a dime.

One of my sons used to go to the boat on occasion. He went with his "entertainment" money and had a good time. I took him there on his birthday one year and saw the $50.00 I gave him last for 10 minutes of fun.
I told him,"See that big hotel up there? That was built with your money.
He quit going to the boat.

Oh, one other thing. All the boat "gaming" revenues will go to EDUCATION. We fall for that crap every **** time."We need money for education".
Well good luck on seeing any improvement in EDUCATION.

Now please excuse me as I climb down off this here soapbox!!!

I first came to Kentucky in 1982, working on the racetrack. My home track is Delaware Park, which in the 80's went through a period of declining attendance, smaller fields, lower handle, and lower attendance, to the point where the track was sold a couple times. What saved it was slots. They put them in, and their handle and purses went up overnight, and now everybody wants to race there, and they're putting Maryland out of business. Louisville is my adopted home, and I love this place, so I'm really hoping that Kentucky racetracks will follow the course of Delaware Park, and not those rinky-dink Maryland tracks. But how much it will benefit Kentucky's economy overall is anybody's guess.

Tyme is right on. I believe there are no saving graces in this world created by politicians. I know I'm a 100% pessimist on this topic but this type of scam by self serving officials has a track record of corruption a mile long. Once they pass this (which they will) how long until we hear that the budgets are out of whack? The State needs money the Educational system is broke how long? My guess is within 5 years.
Tyme you can have your soap box back I'm done....

    Re: Casino Gambling in KY--predictions?

It's sad but I think the days of elected officials representing the people are over. I have had many conversations and emails on the local level with elected officials in Lexington over issues that concern me over the years and every single one of them refused to get involved. They would redirect me to their advisors and assistants and that lead to nothing. So the next time I talk face to face with another Councilmember looking for my vote he/she will get an educated earful. I am becoming aware of how to deal with these people through my stumbling along in their world of lies and deceit and the first thing is not to be angry...just be well prepared.

Maybe they are re-elected because a known evil is better than an unknown evil.

This is quite an interesting phenomenon.

Survey after survey says people think Congress is corrupt and inept. Ask the same people, however, about *their* Congressman, and they think he's a great guy.

We don't seem to be able to believe we elected a loser.
