fished dale today from 10:30 until 3:00. put in at star point. fished from big eagle creek to sulfur creek. focused on main lake and secondary points. boated 3 spots - 2 keepers on jerkbaits. NO smallies on jerkbait/cranks or jigs. water with mild stain to clear depending where in the creeks i was. temps from 49-54. really thought i would have had a better bite but it was not to be. saw prob 10 other boats out today. anyone else posting that was out today? HHKY was also fishing and when i left he had one largemouth. won't be out for another month due to other committments. good luck to all.

You should have thrown that ole fly down there, they have been killing them on that thing for awhile now. Thanks for the report, you'll get'em next time. I like guys that can report a so so to bad day. These guys that catch double limits with 5 and 6 pounders everytime they go really make me wonder, now if I see the pics that's different. Good fishin......

last trip down threw the fly till my arm fell off with no takers. decided to stick to the jerkbait as i was helping a fellow angler learn how to use them. thanks for the kind comments, i will always post after trips - the good the bad and the ugly (my trips usu fall into the last 2 categories)!

We were down there thurs. also. We caught 6 with 5 being smallies and one spot. Nothing big, biggest 18 in, we caught ours on jerkbaits too. No jig bites, but I had one nice fish get off on a shakey head and my partner broke off on a shakey head bite. I had heard that they were killing 'em there but it was a different day. All in all, just a pretty day to fish, but not a good fish catching day. They'll get hot again before they bed (smallies) buddy of mine last year was killing 'em in April- he caught a 7 punder in the BFL and was absolutely salyin' the week before the tourney. Water temps then were mid-upper 50's.

Fishing in a red procraft. I tried the shakey head on and off but we mostly fished jerkbaits. Had one nice fish on but it got off on the shakey head and my partner broke off on the hook set witha shakey head but that was the only two bites we had on it. The jerkbait was the best for us.
