There are more boat ramps on CRL than you can imagine. The closest one off the interestate would be the ramp at Scott Creek Marina. If you go just another couple hundred yards down the road you can launch out of the ramp at the Twin Knobs Campground, but its seperate from the campground. I think its called Alvey. The Scott Creek one would put you near the dam and close to good fishing in the harbor in the marina or across the lake in Caney Creek (?). The Alvey ramp would put you squarely on the flats which may be good fishing after a warm front. Hope this helps.
To use the ramps on Cave Run you have to purchase a pass at one of the stores in the area. There is a visitor's info center just before you get to Scott Creek, but I can never find anyone there. But any of the gas stations or even Crash's Landing should have these passes. They were 3.00 for a 1-day pass or 30.00 for a year round Corp Lake pass that is good at all Corp lakes.
Yeah, take it from first hand knowledge...There aren't any Pay as you Go type Boxes located at the ramps..... Better stop some place before you get to the Lake for a Pass...Or do as I do now and buy the annual 30.00 Corps Pass, like Cobra 190 stated......
Sorry, I completely forgot about the passes. I only go to CRL twice a year if that for muskies and its usually Crash's guys that remind me to get my pass![]()
