Well, got out to Cumberland this weekend and tested the jerkbaits I made earlier. Three of four worked as they were supposed to. The forth swims well, but does not jump well when jerked. Figured out the problem on that one. Fished that one for a while as a shallow crank. Might make some more like that too. Best fun came when one got hit, and hit hard. Friday afternoon and my partner had just caught a LM on a spinner bait. For a few moments I thought I had the new state record LM, then I recognized the fight as being more like something with stripes. Yep, few minutes later boated and released a 16# striper. Interesting fight on bass gear and 10# linePhoto is attached. Now, if the water would warm up a few degrees, I just might get a smallie or three on them!
