? trim question?

ok i have a question for anyone that wants to answer, my trim has been blowing a couple of fuses. whenever i take my motor totor off with the side trim and then when i go to my throttle trim it wont go down it will only go up? and then it blows. and once i change fuses it works fine after it gets warmed up from the motor being started? i ran all the wires from the trim on the motor and to the fuse box in the motor, it is a 200 yamaha 99 model, so i thought it would be a short somewhere but i dont know. so if anyone wants to give me there opinion please leave one. thanks

not sure about your motor, but if it has relays, i'd replace both of them. check out www.outboardrepair.com, it may help.

I had the same problem last year the switch in throttle handle was bad $100 to fix.

what was your trim doing lastyear? did your trim switch on your gear throttle, steering trim, and on your front deck not work going down only up?

The motor would go all the way up and stay up until battery went dead replace front panel switch then the throttle switch try changing the wires around on the front swith frist see if motor goes dowm.

see the motor trims fine on the motor but, its just when you want to trim it down with the other three switches it wont go down all the time. and once i start fishing it does fine. i dont know if it is the down relay might be going bad or a bad connection somewhere, or something because it has blowed two fuses. what do you think?

no it just stopped working wont go up or down at all. i am going to make sure the fluid is topped off this weekend. when i was out fishing i took off the transom saver it worked fine up and down. after we were underway it worked fine trimming out. stopped to bring up the trim and it made some funny noises and just would not work. it seemed like maybe it was the switch but all three do the same thing. it just makes a high rpm spinning sound not sure if that makes scence. but if you heard it you would say yep that thing is broke. lol
