Thanks for the replys. It looks like we are going to be staying in a cabin in the Long Bow area.
I don't know anything about this lake but if everything goes right we will learn a little on the 4th. and 5th.

Make use of a good map and be careful. Alot of Cave Run still has a great amount of submerged timber that can be just under the surface and out of sight. Run with caution anywhere off the main lake and especially up into the creeks and river.
We will be as careful as possible. I have a good map and we will keep an eye out. I have seen alot of areas in the past with people running thier boats hard not knowing what is under thier boats.
Thanks

The pro series is coming to CR on those dates so expect a lot of muskie fisherman. Usually 125- 150 boats.
If all goes well, I may be there one day next week myself. Be putting in at Clay Lick and heading into the North branch of the Licking. Usually just get some minners, and drift around for Crappie,Cats and Bass when I see some structure or a good bank I like. For some reason, I never get out of relax mode when I'm at CR. gOOD lUCK TO yA!!
Good luck to you Cobra!
I think it would be nice if all of us that take advantage of Fishin.com were able to have a decal on our boats that said fishin.com. It would be nice to be able to spot each other on the waters that we use.
I have enjoyed using this web site as most of you have. I have been out of work for over a year now due to illness and am not able to fish like I did years before. I can not cast as much any more because of the pain. I enjoy taking my son and brother out on the boat and watching them and enjoying mother nature.

That's a good idea.
Or even a hat (with the logo) in a color that's unique.![]()
I drove by the Cave around lunch today and it ranges anywhere from soup muddy (Poppin Rock) to heavy stain (dam end). A couple of the creeks were in pretty decent shape but were all full of pre-fishing PMTT anglers.
Thanks again for all of the info. My son, brother and I are chomping at the bits to get to the cave. My son spent about $150.00 on new baits just for this trip. I hope he catches something. He has never caught a muskie but he has got the bug bad!

Anybody got any info on bass at CR? Where they're at, what they're biting, water temp? Any info would be appreciated.
Fished Cave Run on 3/29/08 from 10:00am-4:00pm. Did a lot of running checking out temps and water clarity. Warmest water I found was 46.3 with the coldest being 43.7. Fished a lot of main lake points trying to target isolated brush or stumps. Landed one 14 incher before leaving it to the trollers. It was a good day to be on the water although my special thought for the day would probably be my continued belief that those toothy trollers from the north don't pay much attention to those pesky old bass fisherman that are in their way.
