We hit the lake about 2pm at the dam. It was the first time I had been to the new ramp there and it is awesome. We ran clear to the back of Beaver Creek and threw shad swimbaits shallow near submerged weeds with no luck. We had hooked into 6 and landed 4 in 20 min at the same place last week. We then came about halfway back to BC marina and cast jerkbaits and swimbaits against bluff walls with no luck. Very little debris in the water for all of the rain that we have had. Water was pretty stained way back in the creeks but cleared up pretty quick. Right before dark ran to Jamestown marina area and cast redfins and slivers with no luck on points. I guess it's a little early for the redfin bite yet. Loaded the boat on the trailer and my friend, his truck, his boat, decides let's fish for sauger below the dam. What the heck, let's do it!

We put in at the ramp there at Kendall about 930. Nice ramp. I had never put in there before. I usually put in at Helms Ferry and float down. Anyway, probably 5 other boats on the water and generating on what appeared to be 2-3 turbines. We fished for about 3 hrs and caught 7-9 sauger on a little 2" hammered spoon-thing jerking it off of the bottom. Size was about 15-17" with some of them having some girth and others not much more than a tube. I guess about 4 weeks ago is when that area was really hot and is just winding down. Nice day on the water and a few fish to boot!
