    Re: Lowrance X96 Fishfinder

they are ok for telling the depth and thats pretty much it.... i had one on may last ranger and for the few extra bucks i would get the x 135 because they seem to graph better.. i had an x 96 on the front and i always had to trunn my dash one off cause the front and dash would get their pings cross talking and it would show the front as being in like 900 feet of water andmy temp reading never worked... if u called lowrance u got to listen to their classical music for atleast 10 minutes till u could talk to some foreign guy who cant understand hillbilly for crap... i could never get it to graph a fish hardly unless i was completely stopped on and setting there i would just use mine to check the depth as i went i couldnt get it to do anythign else;.... i even sent it back to lowrance and they said it was fine.. so i dunno it could have just been mine.. but i just think the extra money would be worth it in the long run with the x 135 i mean thats what ranger factory installs in all their boats.... but u are the purchaser.... so its your decision... just think it thru cause bass pro wont hardly take back electronics...
