All, I know first hand that BPS Excel fishing line is extruded at Shakespeare's monofilament facility in Columbia, SC using US produced nylon polymer. It is packaged in large bulk reels, shipped to China for repackaging into consumer sized spools. If you buy the branded Shakespeare Sigma, you are getting the same polymer formula as the Excel. The Shakespeare Sigma is not available in low vis green and is only supplied under the Excel brand.

For my spinning reel applications where I use mono, I only use BPS Excel green. Its the most supple and limp formula I've found. Downside is that it does not have great abrasion resistance and has a lot of stretch but I change the line out frequently, and with the newest graphite technology I have no issues what-so-ever with feel....in fact I like the stretch for all of my spinning mono applications.....fewer misses on crankbait/jerkbait hits and far fewer shake-offs when momma shakes her head like Shakira.

My dog walkers (Spooks/Sammie's) and Carolina Rigs (mono leader) I prefer a braid.
