    Re: hey Elnut

I didn't post so what does that tell you. We fished all day Saturday from daylight to a bit before dark with nothing, no bites, no fish. Tried everything that I know in all parts of the lake. Tourney was on Sunday and we had a 13 1/2 inch slot fish early but that was it. Again tried a bunch of things mostly around the dam area where the "clearer" water was but that was it. Neither of us know the lake very well and it was our 5th total day on this body of water and we don't have any honey holes or sort. Water ranged from 51 near the dam to 52-53 the farther away you got. Chocolate Milk with a bunch of floaters north of the Narrows, not as many floaters but considerably more dirty water south of the State park versus near the dam. We literally threw a C rig, T rig, E rig, Cranks, Spinnerbait, Drop Shot, Shaky Head, Flukes, Topwater, Jigs, Worms.........in a bunch of different colors, sizes, blades and other but to no avail. This is only my 2nd year fishing during the spring for I got my boat in June of 2003, Surgery in March 2004, Took a job and moved in Spring 2005 and fished some but not much, Surgery March 2006, Surgery Feb 2007 but did fish some, and now this year. Not much experience in fishing cold dirty water for neither Hens or myself. We threw our monster back and left a couple of hours before the weigh in. Hens talked to a couple of boaters today and they skunked and left early as well plus the King Daddy guy that usually wins all of these only had a couple of fish when they left as well. Maybe our monster would have cashed maybe not, but Hens will find out tomorrow. We saw this one boat come in close to us and it looked like the guy pulled out a photo album as he was showing his partner the lay of the land. Tough for us to compete against this lake knowledge. This is the kind of stuff I know about Dale, Cumberland from the Dam to Harmon and Difficulty, North Barkley, LBL side of North Ky and some of south Ky but that is really the extent of my full lake knowledge. For now, it is off to North Barkley at 6am Tuesday morning and if I skunk there any of the 3 days, I will leave the boat, all my 200 lbs of tackle, and about 10 rods at the ramp with a "Free" sign on it and will not spend nearly the amount of gas coming back as I will going down. I posted a little while ago that "It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas" and starting tomorrow morning Santa and his sleigh starts to dance a jig on my roof top. 3 days this week North Barkley, the 12th thru the 18th back at North Barkley with Hens, and then 4 days the first week of May (one of these days with the Master Dave Stewart that he so graciously donated due to all my health problems last year, thank you very much Dave) and the last 3 with my wife and son on South Ky. I will be opening up presents about 11am tomorrow and not stopping until the end of the first week of May. HO HO HO!!!!!!!!!!
