Today was the first time out in a bit, the high muddy water, winds, rains and I guess work has kept me grounded for several days at least. However, the lake looked outstanding. Water was much clearer than I expected (2-3' visibility with a white spinnerbait)- still a bit high, but that made it fun! The fish are scattered, but I was finding good numbers of small to average size fish shallow. Caught close to 20 in all, - all largemouth and only a handful (5 or 6) would have made the 15 inch mark, the biggest being close to 3 pounds. Not great if you were tournament fishing, but a very fun day. Caught a few flipping brush with b-hogs, one on a shakey head, one a c-rig a little deeper and the rest came on spinnerbaits. I actually have a bruise on the side of my chest from setting the hooks.
Overall, Ky lake is getting back to where it should be for this time of year (HOT!!). I didn't make to barkley - I hope it is clearing up too - I have a tournament there this weekend. I am just crossing my fingers we don't get the 3-5 inches of rain they are calling for the next day or so.
Forgot to mention - if anyone from work reads this - I guess my flu is so bad I am delerious and making things up. I guess my fever also made my face red - except around my eyes where shades would be.

I hope to make it down this Spring for the shallow water flower fishing.
All that water can kill the flowers to soon. Was down at the end of last week with my girls just being a tourist and walking a playing around the lake and area. They had a ball walking trails and watching the bison. We drove everyroad that was pass able on lbl/trace to checkout the lakes, height and clarity. Wow, I got the fever bad.
