This may or may not happen, we want to hear the ads and what is going to be on here first. HOWEVER we do not want to offend anyone and I do want to hear from the guys who WOULD leave in the survey and the ones who are not crazy about it. OH and it would NOT be on the Discussion board. Most likely only on a few reports and on some article pages.

Peter and I need to hear both sides. WE do not want to lose anyone, all of you are valuable to this site in some way. Advertising is a reality in life. It pays for a LOT of things that we do daily. Including Fishing, Sports Arena's and even Highways in Indiana .. LOL.
So PLEASE we do want to hear the negatives and will not delete negatives on this subject. .. the caveat being you can not cuss, or disparage people here. Tell us why you do NOT LIKE the idea of audio ads. Jim Dicken

The only problem I would have with something like this is the fact that I am on very slow dial up. Web pages take long enough to load and audio just kills my load times. I would still come here, just not nearly as often.

I have a test of the system at http://www.FishingTripInformation.com can you check and let me know how it affects you on Dial Up. This is not loaded on this site.. so it loads like an affiliate banner which means that the rest of the page loads and is available before the ad loads.. which allows you to click on the links before the ad plays and I THINK IT will not play then.. so should not affect the navigation through the site time wise..

If you have adblock let me know if it works.
This is not a pop up, it is an audio file like the Commercial we ran for the Strader Expo for a few days on the site back in Feb.
I had to wait until I was back at work because at home I'm running a new beta of Firefox 3 and AdBlock doesn't work on it yet.

I went to the hunting site and left it up for about 2 minutes and never heard a thing (with my sound on). I will say this - in the whole 2 minutes, that page never completely loaded (just kept spinning the wheels as about 95&#37 so maybe the sound ad and AdBlock were fighting it out.

    Re: Question for all

I'd rather not have to hear them but I see the need for advertising and would definately not leave because of it.

I used your link and the page loaded in a little over a minute and I never heard a peep. I have a pop-up blocker that may be the cause, I don't know.
