I haven't really fished for them, but have caught a few on a grub while fishing for smallmouth and I can tell you there are some monster crappie in Dale. I caught one over 2 lbs and I've seen them on smalljaw.com over 3lbs.

Guys at Dale that I have talked to and who should know say to fish crappie tubes, grubs, or minnows around laydowns in the rivers and creeks for white crappie and around mid-lake weeds for black crappie. There are a lot of weeds mid lake across from Lillydale.

Now with that said, expect most of the crappie you catch to just be niced sized in the 12 in range.
