You can still launch at the Dam. Ky lake is stained, but not near as bad as Barkley. I talked to a few guys today that were fishing for crappie. Notice I said fishing and not catching. They said the high water has them pretty scattered. One guy said he almost had a limit in Jonathan creek - but that was after 8 hours of fishing. The bass are definitely scattered. I have had some good days in the high water, and I have had some not so good days.
I have found them in the bushes, and on small drops from the flats and shallows.
For now I would not advise fishing barkley - most of the water is MUDDY - about 6 inches visibility. You can find some clearer pockets, but the clearest I saw Barkley today was about the average visibility on Ky. Debris in the water is so thick on the main lake of Barkley in patches you can't run much above idle. When I say debris, I am talking entire trees and many of them. As the lake stabalizes and starts to fall over the next day or two this should clear up some.
As the weather stabalizes this week the fishing should get hotter than it already is.
