Crappie Fishing Gone Wrong
Aaron and I made a weekend trip to Reelfoot to catch a few crappie. We knew the weather was going to be good. Fished all day Saturday and only caught a few crappie. I would rate the fishing only fair.
We had a hotel at the southern spillway end of the lake. Pulled in the parking lot and noticed a whole bunch of rednecks like ourselves. They were catching large Asian carp and buffalo. Only took us 15 minutes to get to the bait shop to get snagging hooks and join in.
Ended up landing around 200 lbs and lost about that much. Only had one big rod so we took turns. The fish were actually breaking 80 lb test line. Our big fish was 65 lbs, but we helped land a 78 pounder.
One crazy crappie fishing trip.
