I guess the new curado will be $300 and the citica $200?

As most of you know, Shimano put out a great rebate on a few select models of their baitcasting reels. That rebate ends on the last day of this month.
However i have learned that is not all that will end. The Curados and Citicas that are out now are being remade (again). Which means that until they do come out with the new ones (release date at Icast in July, In stores a month or so after) The availabilty of a Curado or Citica is very slim to none. The availability is the bad news.
The good news, These reels will be very nice and lighter. Some of the same technologly that went into making the featherweight, Core reel, will be used in the production of these new reels.
As of now we have a few left in stock, and can no longer get them in.

I will try and find out some more from my Shimano Rep. He is out of town, but he did e-mail me and said the Curado was not available til mid-summer. I will try and get the scoop.
If they are redesigning them----I will be selling my new/old Curado's to get the new ones.
Shimano makes one great reel!
Good luck getting info from shimano reps. They are being pretty tight lipped about this. The icast show is in July so I bet they are released to the public then.
I don't know if it's true or not, time will tell. But I've heard rumor that Shimano will be coming out with a new F-N-F rod this fall too.
I thought none of this was supposed to be made public yet?
FNF yes. As well as BPS version. I talked with Steve Headrick to confirm and saw prototypes.
While this is a public message board, this is not an official announcement by any means. I was just trying to inform the people who use these products what I found out, so they can get them before it is too late. Shimano has done this on multiple occasions, and at times left many of their loyal users, unhappy.
Is there a huge gray area as of now? Absolutely.
Can I get any more Curados at this time? No.
Do I still have some in stock with rebates? Yes.
Will we know a lot more this summer about these models of reels? Yes.
