I hope the cold snap hasn't slowed things down too much. I'll be down there as well. If you see a Lund that is way too small for the lake with two fat guys in it, say HI.

I'm going to check the stripers out Wed. night. I could use A little help with lake conditions and fish activity . I'll post results if I have any.

Was down Friday night (we go three shorts). Some creeks had color to them, others more clear. Also depended on where in the creek you were. I know they are pulling pretty hard right now, so those conditions have likely changed. 58-60 degree surface temps.

I'll be checking Wolf and Caney and A few spots on the main lake. I guess thats as good as any to start. Thanks for the help.
I am heading back down Friday night for the night bite. Last Friday 4/11 we boated one 18 pounder. I am including a link to the night bite discussion last week that may help.

I will post our Friday night results this weekend. Good luck everyone.
wwere you guys fishing whipperwill creek last night? I saw a lund with two guys in it, was going to go and bum a cigarette, but held back. I was going to stay out later myself but my rear light wasn't working, did you guys do any good?
Fished Wed. and Thur. night. Wed. put a lot of time in Caney creek. Water temp. 53 to 58, lots of bait. It shoud have been good but only caught two small stripes and lots of Gar bites. I moved to the main lake near the cut about mid night and caught one small stripe and one walleye about 4#. Thur. fished Beaver creek. I found some bait fish and a lot of activity right at dark. I caught 2 small stripes and had a few other hits. About 9:30 all activity ended. Fished till 4:00am and did a lot of moving. All in all I give it a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. One more week of warm weather shoud do the trick. P.S. If you must go now tie on a Sliver, blue or gold an fish it slower than you think you should.
Per haps the fish "quit" early due to water cooling down in the wee hours. Still just a tad bit cool. Thanks for the report.
Thought I would add my two cents worth on the nightbite. We fished out of Beaver Thursday night mid-creek area. There was a little surface activity right before dark but no hook ups. Ran into lots of gar right after dark. Had one follow a redfin to the boat and buddy(grousegunner) had one take a swimbait slicing the line quick. Got out of that area and the first fish of the night was a 22" walleye. The rest of the night was nothing but small stripes in the 18-22" sizeframe. We did manage to get 9 in the boat and I did hook into 2 others that were definitely keepers but didn't get them in. Oddly, most were getting hooked in the side of the face not in the mouth. Red/White Redfin is what they liked. 1030-1130 was when most of the activity happened. Very little shad flippin activity. I'm sure the full mood didn't help matters.

That was us Larry. We didn't do any good daytime fishing. Caught one short striper around dark and some KYs. Things are really starting slow this year.
We didn't do very good last Friday either. Had one on using a jig but after using slivers I forgot to set the hook and he got off half way to the boat. Boated a nice smallmouth on a sliver however. Good luck to those that try it this weekend.
