    Barren Access

If I understand correctly, the lake is about 12 ft. over summer pool. Is the ramp at the Peninsula accessable? Seriously considering playing hooky from work one day this week. TIA

On the 5th of April the lake was only 4 1/2 to 5 feet above summer pool. I don't believe it has rained enough since then to make it jump another 6 to 7 feet more since then. But I could be wrong......Check with the COE's and see exactly how high the water is above summer pool. By the way only the water from the Narrows Ramp to the dam was the cleanest and not to stained. Everything else was like a Big glass of choc. milk and full of trash. Some of the floating debris was entire trees floating and a lot of submerged stuff you couldn't see. I also heard of at least one lower unit being tore up from a submerged railroad tie...So if you go, be careful and watch out for the floating stuff in the water......

Just got back, the lake was an easy 10-12 ft over summer pool this past weekend and went from heavy stain to muddy as you moved up the lake towards Skaggs and Beaver Creek. Water temps from 58 to 64 degrees.

The Narrows Ramp had so much debris built up on it that it was unusable, we launched at the state ramp. And I mean big trees, not little floaters either. They have a back hoe there cleaning it up on Saturday. Fishing was hit or miss. If you found em you could get a good bite going but most of the time they were somewhere else and not on my line!!!!!

Good luck and be careful of debris!

As of Tuesday at 5pm it was 12feet above summer pool. The link is accurate and updated daily. The lake has fell one inch in the past 24hours. They are holding water untill the Green River levels get managable. I think they are now starting to slowly drop the lake. Last week when the lake was up 9 feet the new boat ramp, port oliver, was usuable. The pennisulla ramp is usually always usuable. I have launched in the parking lot yrs and yrs ago.
