Well then, I have a freezer real close to Ky lake if anyone ever has too many. LOL. I will never turn down some crappie fillets.
The possession limit is intended to address the situation where an angler fishes overnight and, technically, is fishing in two different days once the clock passes midnight. In that case, the next morning he can have two limits in his possession because he has just finished fishing during two different calendar days.

This subject was addressed on the KY Afield call-in show. Creel limit is the number of fish you can keep in a day. Possesion limit is the maximum number of fish you can have in your possesion while in the field, i.e. still fishing with your fishing equiptment in hand, coming home from said fishing trip. The possesion limit DOES NOT apply to how many fish, rabbits, anything that has a creel or posession limit that you have in your freezer.
