    Rod Mount Queston

My Jonboat has a track built into the inside edge that goes all the way around the boat. I was told it was to be used for a duck blind, but I've seen boats with rod mounts that lock into this track. I just can't find any or get any information on them. The track opening is about 5/8 inch and the inside of the track is maybe 3/4" to one inch wide. Any help out there? I would hate to start drilling holes when I don't have to.

Not many folks make accessories to fit the T-Rail system.

War Eagle does or you can buy your own male T-rail in stock lengths and make your own accessories.

So it's called T-rail. Thanks bevo, that's a start. I looked at the War Eagle sight and that is very similar. I spent the morning trying to fabricate some aluminum stock I had laying around. I can see that it wouldn't be too tough to make something work. Thanks again!

Typically what is used to attach things to a T-Rail system is the male piece which fits the slot, and has holes drilled in it. The holes have bolts that have had the heads cut or actual T shaped heads allowing them to slip into the slot.

You can get around all this by making your own T head shaped bolts, getting lucky and finding them somewhere or by using a hole saw to introduce an area to use round bolts. Basically once you see how you can attach stuff the T-Rail system and you are somewhat resources, which it sounds like you are, you can fabricate a ton of useful stuff to work in the T-Rail system.

The stock lengths of the t-rail material are hard to find. I'll see what I can do.

Thanks for all your help bevo. Let me know if you find any of that stuff. I really like the idea of using the track for it's intended purpose. From what I've read online today, the tracks in the Roughneck, War Eagle, and Lund are all the same size. At least I got that going for me.
