As of last night, Settlers Trace was closed off. You had to U-turn at the top of the hill. Drove to The state park where there were several vehicles in the parking lot. I didn't see any boats on the water going over the dam, but they were pulling it very hard from the looks of the tailwaters. The main lake by the dam looked like a cup of Starbucks......
Looks like some great fishing for the crappie is being missed at the T-Ville Lake this year.... Does anyone have any idea why they keep the lake up at near summer pool and don't drop the lake level like Nolin or Rough River...I don't have a clue, unless the lake is kept at near Summer Pool for supplying water to area communities for drinking water.
Winter pool is 2 ft lower than summer pool at Taylorsville.
I guess they don't draw it down much because they can
hold a large amount of water back if they need to,
at least for a small lake.
I don't remember it ever getting up to the spillway.![]()
State park ramp open. Too much debris in water to really run so you will probably not get too far up the river. Large Banjo minnows knocked them dead on Sunday in the mouths of creeks. No kidding !!!!
Thinking about taking my boys fishing on Sunday for a friendly competition between the 3 of us. Can anyone give me any info as far as types of lures, locations or an area that might produce some fish...Even if their dinks the numbers count among us for bragging rights you know. Biggest fish is always worth $ 5.00 to the lucky winner each time we go out....But it seems like each time dear old dad catches the biggest fish I seem to be the one paying myself the $ 5.00....lol
Anyway any help is greatly appreciated.....![]()
Since there is so much floating debris in the water I would suggest fishing the left side of the lake heading from State towards Settlers Trace and once you at Settlers Trace fish on the left side again; I like to take my boys as well and we always do good on those banks; nothing huge but enough to keep the young ones going. Small white and yellow rooster tails and small bomber cranks in pearl work for us. Catch bass, bluegill and occasional drum. Good luck
chawning lane was opened today a frend of mine was over there as they where unlocking the gates
