Older boat and motor cheap

I have a late 80's model Gambler boat, it is a project, comes with trailer, also have an 88-89 Evinrude 225 to go along with it. I was told the motor ran, but the lower unit was slipping. Have never heard it run, I do have the controls and gauges for the motor. The shift control has a crack in the bottom of it. The motor is not mounted on the boat. I started stripping the carpet out, got tired of trying to do that and all the other things life throws your way, so I decided to buy a newer boat. I have the registration for the boat and the transfer paper from the person it was purchased from. Not sure what it would take to get a title on it. $300.00 for everything. I need to get it moved.
