    Bank Fishing

Anyone know of any lakes where there is good bank fishing? I unfortunately don't have a boat and have to rent one every time we go fishing. I would love to find a good place to catch some crappie from the bank. Also, does anyone know of any other lakes besides Monroe and Patoke that rent fishing boats (with motors, not row boats)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Well ,
If you are in Evansville thats a good question . Ive found that if you can bank fish a lake the crappie are the first to get fished out . I would recommend Scales lake in Booneville - you cant fish the whole lake from shore but quite a bit of it and it has a pop. of bluegill/redear . There is a lake at USI campus . Some of the lakes at Bluegrass can be bank fished also . A good bank fishing spot for bluegill is Oakland City New Lake . As you head to Oakland City there is a 4-way stop with a Grandys Res. , look for a sign before you get to the intersection on the right thats says NEW LAKE - turn there and follow that road . For boat rental there are - Hovey Lake , Glendale { Dogwood } , Lynnvile Park might rent boats { not sure } , Patoka Lake { Keiths Marine but it cost $$ } . Good Luck !

Check out the DNR fishing guide.

Most bigger lakes have boat rental.
