Nice lake I like to fish but gas keeps me closer to home.

I fished Guist today for the 4th time. The first three times were terrible... But two of those times were in the dog days of summer and the other time was muddy and cold. Today I caught two decent keepers, one on a fluke and the other on a spinnerbait. Lost a couple more, and caught a couple of dinks. Water temp was 67 to 69 degrees. Water color up the creek was almost muddy, but down by the dam was green. The water near the ramp was somewhere in between, but mostly green. Lots of fishing going on, as USA Bassin had a tourney... I think something less than 8 lbs won w/ a 4 lb big bass. We spent almost the whole day up the creek and found our bites in the murky coves, shallow water. Seems like I stayed hung up most of the day, and pulled alot of tree bass outta the water. Everybody I talked to said the bite was tough. I agree.
Since this lake is 35 minutes from the house, looks like I'll be getting to know it better. Either that or gas prices will go down or I'll win the lottery. Winning the lottery seems more likely than gas prices dropping.
Anybody knowledgeable about this lake and want to share some seat time at Guist, let me know. I'll provide the boat or I'll take the back seat.
