Was thinking of fishing for Musky or trout in the tailwaters of Cave Run Dam this week. I haven't fished it before so any suggestions would be appreciated. Where can I put in with a small 14 foot Jonboat with a 15 hp motor? Thanks much...

I think there is a ramp below the spillway. I have not been there since they made you buy a parking pass.

The ramp is still there. Good ramp, water release may give you some trouble so be careful.

I have fished down there and the fishing can be really good right now. If the white bass are running the muskies will be up in the spillway occasionally. I hooked one in the spillway on light tackle and it nearly stripped my line.. LOL.
8 pound test and the musky when it surfaced and rolled looked like at least 25 pounds. I was fishing a lil' fishie lure for the whites.
