    Re: Boat Ramp Dilemma

I'd pull up in lane 2 but would give one or two the chance to move over if they want. If there were no takers I'd proceed on to launch.

Head for the open lane and just maybe some of those "Sheep" would follow suit. Even worse is when someone backs their 14 foot jon boat down the middle of those two lanes. And of course they have to take everything out of the truck and put in the boat, and, and Oh way to go, now you got me started.....

I would probably get in line, then start asking around as to why nobody was using the other ramp. If nobody said, "Because of the giant sinkhole that could swallow Bob's mother-in-law," I'd move over and use it.

    Re: Boat Ramp Dilemma

If there is a line that long, you are getting to the ramp too late!!! LOL This has happened to me before, and I waited until I was second in line, then used the other ramp. I may be too nice though. It drives me crazy when similar things happen at Ky dam, where there is enough room for 4 or 5 boats and they are only going in two at a time.

Get your stuff ready, wait a minute to check that no one is coming in, and then use the vacant lane. I've had guys cut in front of me, while i'm getting the boat ready, and then they proceed to load coolers, rods, what ever else they need, and then launch, and they are not always buck eyes or hoosiers, bubbas are just as rude and ignorant as anyone else. biggest peeve, guys who have to clean that shinny metal flake boat while still on the launch apron.

launch if no one else is taking advantage just go ahead and put in... thats why u drove to the lake i would be courteous but i wouldnt wait..... i am very impatient and when stupidity is involved it just gets me pi$$ed off so i would launch and if they got mad they would just have to get over it they had their chance...

Thumbs up Re: Boat Ramp Dilemma

9 times outta 10, people are like sheep and just assume the other lane is broke since the guy in front is not using it. this leads to more and more sheep in line. the proper thing to do, IMHO, as stated in a previous post is to holler up the line and ask if something is wrong with the open lane.

definitely don't holler in a sarcastic tone, especially around elnut; he may de-arm you of your car keys right into the drink.

more than likely, the other guys will get it and begin using the open lane. i would not just move ahead of everyone else and go to the open lane. to me, that's rude. it's similar when they have a merge lane on the road due to construction. you see people starting to merge over and then that knuckle head bypasses everyone just so he/she can 'squeeze' in at the last second. granted, it's not the exact same since you can't holler up the line, but the results are the same. one guy thinking he's better (or smarter) than everyone else. he may, indeed, be more intelligent than the other folks, but definitely has no right to jump the line.

back to the original post, the other 4 boaters in front; it might be their first trip to the lake; just don't know better and can be easily corrected with a little instruction and common courtesy.

treat everyone with a little respect and it'll return to you four fold.

    Re: Boat Ramp Dilemma

This did happen to me early this year, I just waited until it was my turn and took lane B. There was a tournament going on, I figured they wasn't familiar with the ramp.
