Fished Beaver yesterday. No thermometer, so I'm not sure how warm the water was but there was at least 4 foot visibility. The wind was horriblle, and it was hard to position the boat. Didn't see any bedding bass, but then again, the grass is so thick--especially in the shallows--that you probably couldn't see any beds that are there anyway. But, the dock owner said the bass were on the bed and I believe him as we only had 2 strikes in the 5 hours or so we fished. I boated both fish and both were litttle bucks--one 10" and another 12". I haven't been to Beaver in about 12 years and couldn't belive how much grass is in there. I plan to go back when the bass are done spawning and fish the edges of the grass with a spinnerbait or rat-L-trap. (I caught one fish on a spinnerbait and one on a rat-L-trap yesterday).Or, I'll try fishing with a swim frog and letting it drop into any holes.
Any other ideas on how to tackle post spawn bass at Beaver?
Thanks and God Bless,
John
