I went back for, what I thought was, another 8 hours of learning how to bass fish in the KBFN tourney yesturday, not expecting anything really. I drew a guy, well young man really, named Bradley Roy as my boater. I could not believe how nice this 17 yr old young man was, he was truely a credit to his family and the youth program in bass fishing. We ran for what seemed like forever up to a place he wanted to hit, and within 45 mins of getting there I hooked my first ever bass!! It was a little over 2 pounds, but it did not matter to me as it was just BEAUTIFUL!! I found myself almost shaking as he slapped it down to measure it, saying PLEASE be 15!! It was and I was just elated. I landed it on a "shaky head" (I think that's what its called, screws into the worm and you skin hook it) and just though it out and did what I was told to by the guys at "the cabin" we stopped at. Ended up catching 3 more, but only one other made the 15" requirement, but none of those mattered because I will only truely remeber two things about that day for the rest of my life. The first is catching that wonderful creature. The second is how excited Bradley was that he was there to see a 37 year old guy catch his first bass, and how happy he was for me each time I got a "hit" or landed another. I cannot say enough about how truely honored I was to have someone that nice with me to teach me some of his "little secrets" and actually explain why he choose certain spots, what to look for, what to use at each, and just talked about life and fishing like he knew me for years. I ended up in 8th or 9th, somewhere like that, but I didn't care about it, I just know that young man thought me a TON, was definately one of the nicest young men I have EVER met, and I CAUGHT MY FIRST BASS!!!

PS. Thanks again Chuck for taking me with you and, again, covering all the costs so I could enjoy this once in a lifetime moment!!
