What happened!!

Fri. morning I'm fishing a tube, felt the bump let the line ease out for a second ........WHAM I set the hook, not really a deep down from Tenn. hookset but a solid hookset. I bring the tube back to the boat and discover that a one inch section of the lower jaw with the hinged joint (apparerntly the right side if facing the fish) was stuck between the tube and the 4/0 hook.
My partner said he would not have believed it if he hadn't seen it. Anybody else had something like this happen.

Were you useing braided line???

P-line Halo. The rod was a 7'2" Cumara. This was just a freak thing I guess.

I set the hook hard enough to actually bring a fish out of the water, 10 feet away and over the boat! I have never ripped off a jaw. Congradulations! No, just kidding. That fish may have had issues before that. Now he has a VERY BIG ISSUE..............That fish is messed up like a Football Bat!
