Is Dale Hollow worth a darn in September?

I've planned a week vacation to try the place out the last week of September. I've never fished the lake, and am taking this vacation to try and figure it out. I've heard lots of great stories of the place and how pretty of a lake it is. Plus, the fact that the record smallmouth came out of there is all the more the reason to figure it out! Any tips of what to expect in September?

Yeah, I know that September isn't the best time, but it's pretty much only option right now.

I hate Sept. it's by far the worst month for fishing in my opinion. All that being said I'm sure someone on here will chime in with something. Also check out smalljaw.com, them Holler boys over there know what them brown bass are thinking before they do. Alot of guys that fish the lake very often and are extremely helpfull. Not disssing this site what so ever as I love it here but those are fellas that fish the Hollow constantly.

i went last year around oct 10th....water temps low 70s. did good under overcast...but next day was bluebird skys and needless to say the bite shut down. hope that helps.

if i were you id hit the backs of the creeks since by that time the shad should be schoolingup pretty good and you should be able to get em on topwater or cranks or something like that...but like you ive never fished it in september...good luck though
