NO FISHING! I have kids and its Mother's Day! There would be an awful Storm if I went. I'm playing it smart and staying home to make sure the wife and kids have a great Mother's Day. She deserves that.

Looks like you made a wise decision of not going fishing this morning...Man here on the outskirts of Louisville, were getting pounded by thunderstorms.... The temp outside is a nice 59 degree's...I feel for anyone out fishing in this crap today......

Well, against my better judgement, I decided to go ahead and head to Cumberland this morning. That was all the Wife wanted for Mothers day, me to take her fishing somewhere. Hit the lake this morning, rigged her up a bobber and minnow, BAM, She catches the first largemouth of her life! Then she proceeds to haul in a crappie. She is having a blast. Meanwhile I am trying to keep the boat from blowing away from the winds. I hear her yell "I got another one!" Well, I THOUGHT I had set her drag loose enough. Poor Woman just starts cranking the heck out of her reel. The fish came to the surface, it looked like a pretty nice one. Before I could say loosen your drag, the line snapped. So then there is a 20 minute lecture/speech/coaching from me to her about drag, and playing fish. I wound up catching a largemouth on a spinnerbait, had a HUGE smallie come unbuttoned on the spinnerbait. Then had a tussle with a big mamma smallie on a soft plastic. Managed to get her in the boat, left the house without my scales this morning. When the wife finds her memory card for her phone, I will try to post some pics. Awesome day!
