    Congrats on the nice fish.
Don't feel bad about not catching any bigger than 5 for my biggest is 6-1 and that was just caught last Monday. I have fished both lakes for 3 years both shallow in the spring and deep ledges and humps in the summer plus night fished Ky to nothing over 6 until that one fish and then it took "The Champ" to put me on that fish. Some people just catch bigger fish than others. I have caught more than my share of Smallies over 5 plus 3 of them over 6, grant it, I fish for them more than Greenfish, but thought I would at least have caught a couple more over 6 by now. Had my chances at them for I know of 3 different fish that I had hooked in the buck brush that were over 7 but always managed to get off or break off, plus one HUGE monster that blew up on my buzzbait on North Barkley 2 years ago and knocked it 3 feet in the air and all I got was the memory of seeing this beast come half way out of the water and catch air. Keep chunkin where the bigguns live and it will happen. I know skill plays a large part in it but just like other forms of life LUCK plays a part as well.

WOW,,,Listening to you guys confirms what my partner has been tellin me all along. Im Terrible!!!! My big fish slump lasted years. I fish Taylorsville and Rough mostly, but do manage to get to Ky/Barkley a couple times a year. Caught the biggest fish Ive had in a while earlier in the spring at Barren, a 5 and a half pounder.

T-ville and Rough need a rest. Hit THE KY/Barkley more, book a trip with Dave Stewart in March. Oh it will turn for you my friend.

Man my fishin partner must be REALLY lucky.........He caught his BEST ever early last month a 6.5 from pisqua..........and then on EARTHQUAKE DAY..........a couple weeks ago, he caught a 7.4lb out of sugar..........

He now thinks he's Roland Martin

We're headed to Canada in 2 weeks, and should be on those 100 fish days..........CANNOT wait.

    Later,

    Geo

I had a stellar guide tell me once....all you can do is hit the water at first light and keep your line wet as much as you can.

That or go to Mexico for the larrys. Dale is the absolute deal for monster sallys.
