I heard through a friend that the bite is good. He didn't say any particular areas but if it were me I would find some shallow flats. Another good area since you are going out of Wani might be point 11.

I'm new to this board and this is my first post here. I've been reading this board for about 2 weeks now and it has a lot of good info on it. I grew up fishing with my dad and stopped during college as time wouldn't allow. Now that I'm 35 a friend of mine reintroduced me to the sport and I am once again hooked (so to speak).
I live in Corbin, just a few minutes from Laurel Lake, but fished mainly Dale Hollow, Cumberland, Norris, Cherokee and Douglas Lakes growing up. Anyway I've planned a weekend trip to Cherokee Lake and was wondering if anyone had any good advice. Night fishing for Bass, Stripers or Walleye. Didn't know if anyone had been there lately. Probably will put in at Wa-Ni Village.
Also I know that this is Kentucky discussion board so didn't know if it was appropriate to post questions and comments about Tennesse lakes here. Live in KY but so close to the border I do fish a Tennesse a lot.
This board is really educational and helpful, thanks to all for the insight.

Thanks for all the help fellas, Friday was pretty slow fishin worms/tubes/jigs for bass on main lake points with no luck. Saturday during high winds managed to pull some from grass in shallow bays on a rattle trap. Saturday night got into the hybrids pretty heavily on main lake points on thundersticks. Those hybrids are a lot of fun. The LM/SM bass I caught looked poorly. Very slender.
Andy I will keep that in mind I'm always looking for a good fishing partner, It's always good to fish with different people. . .keeps teaching me new tricks.
