Red Shad soft plastics

I just got a good deal on some red shad smallie beavers.

Those of you who use this color, when and where do you prefer to use this color? Do you prefer overcast conditions, stained water? Shallow? Deep? I'm a student of the art of bass fishing, and not a particularly bright one, but one day I think it all might "click".

Shallow or deep I like stained water when using this color. It doesn't matter to me on the clouds or sunshine when using soft plastics. Good Luck.
