    Re: 29.69 lb stringer (Nolin)

i have never met eather one of those guys but if you ask anybody who fishes tournys they know who beachem and long are and that says alot those guys are good and are always in the money in tournys. i have ben fishing tournys for about 3 years now and that was mostley tom and al's at rough river and some work ones. but me and my buddy have always said we hope to be as cosistent as beachem and long one day but with 29lbs at nolin that is pretty hard to compete with.

"man 29lbs that is crazy." i haven't cought 29lbs combined all year

and just to add,as good as they are both their heads still fit in the boat, nice fellows without the attitude,i have fished in tournaments against them since 96 and have never seen an unsportsman like act.if you see em"cruising" back to weigh in a few hours early your butt has been whipped...

I've fished against Gary and David since the mid 80's,their not big into brushpiles, they are just that consistent and are as effeicent as they come at seining shallow water. They dont fish the bigger circuits that are draws they only fish as a team. They do catch them off of other lakes too I've seen them wack them on Ky, Barren and bust a 20lb bag on Taylorsville. They are also as mentioned a class act.I talked with them after one tourney and Gary said he kept his notes going back like 20 years....thats dedication

That is an awesome day on the water. I have saw several 25lb bags, had a couple of em myself, but the biggest i have ever seen was 28 and some change out of Malone. 29.69 is unreal! Congrats to those guys!

B&L aren't fishing shallow. They aren't seeing the fish that they are catching right now. The only fish that they are seeing is on their graphs. I watched them this last weekend on one spot. They pulled up next to a point. Casted out into 30 feet of water and within 5 minutes of pulling up had a 4.5 lb+ fish. Those guys are amazing. I was fishing a tourney and told them I didn't mind if they stopped and fished next to me, because it isn't every day that the best pull up next to you and pull one out. They are great fishermen and courteous as can be. They asked me if I was fishing a tournament, got ready to leave and I told them that they could fish there. It is my goal to contend with them. Forget all of this unbeatable nonsense. I want to beat B&L when they are at their best even if it is 20 years from now.

How deep are they getting these fish?? I know they aren't coming shallow. Which end of the lake are they fishing?? I know one time I saw them in Brier and then heard that same day that they won the tournament in Rock. Are they using jigs to catch these fish? My guess is they are.

Back in the 80's there was a team for Mouser-Owens that was kicking everyones butt on Nolin. I've been going to that lake for over 40 years and still have a hard time with it. I know the years I have done well on Nolin that I would be fishing it about two times a week.
