My friend and I fished the area around Fenton over the weekend and had considerable success. We found two patterns that worked well. We fished buzz baits in the back of the bays around buck brush and weeds and caught several good fish. These fish continued to bite as long as the sun wasn't a factor. The other pattern was fishing 6 inch lizzards carloina style on the drops in the mouth of the bays. The best color was pumpkin seed with the tail dipped in chartruse. The fish ran about 16-17 inches with on smallie going 4lbs +. Just before leaving I tried a frog in the same shallows and they were tearing it up, but only stuck one. I guess I need to relearn this method!!
