Two short trips yesterday and today. Water temps yesterday 68 and today 71 - bright sun sure made a big difference. water gin clear to about 5 ft then nice stain. boated 4 yesterday with a keeper smallie and keeper spot amongst the 4. broke off 3 nice smallies - they jumped after the line broke - think the knot was not snug. had a keeper largemouth - ~4# pull off at the boat. fish caught on......yeah, still throwing swimbaits. went out today with dad and brother from NJ. short trip to get them on some fish. they dogged me! brother caught 3 dad 2 and me one. no keepers but lots of fun -> 4 smallies and 2 kentucks. yeah you guessed it -> swimbaits. had a really nice largemouth pull off on the last cast -> est at about 4-5# -> got a 30 sec adrenaline rush and a good look. nice to be out with friends and family. could get out tomorrow on cland but going to take the kids to a farm pond i have been stocking (recently dug out and renovated) for some relaxation. will not be on the water much for rest of summer due to events with family and work. good luck to all. cland is still fishing well if you have not been down. btw for those of you wondering, i saw my first set of fry for cland this year. there must have been 500 of the little black dudes hanging around an old stump in 2 ft of water. hopefully millions more out there! pix posted on photo board.
