have you had any problem with the points folding over on them? I tried some, and had some problems, but it may have just been a bad batch. I do have to say that they are VERY sharp, but seemed they were not as durable as the Mustads or Owners. I do have to agree they are priced well, i may need to try some more.
I heard that they were Gamastu(sp) hooks, packed with the BPS name, but i don't know if that is true.
Those bass pro hooks do fold over bad on the tip if you hit anything with them. I like the gamakatsu hooks the best
I have always been an Eagle Claw guy, and I'll probably never change. Laser sharp has always stuck'em for me.
I like the Gammy's, that's all I use no matter what the application. Mostly use the EWG's. Now if I could figure out the best or biggest swimbait hook! I have some ideas but gotta find the time to try them.
Don if you plan on fishing them in open water than just use a lead jig head and expose the hook. I was doing this the other day and liked the way it looked and casted. IF you were tossing it in brush, grass or other stuff it would not be the way to go, something to think about.
I will have to agree that Gamakatsu are great. DJD, check out the lake fork tackle weighted hooks for swimbaits.
Gammy's are the only hooks i will ever use again.
Owner "sled Head" for soft plastic and Gammy's for trebles
