Went into Pep Boys in Florence the other day and guess what they're pushing hard on a can't miss display table as you walk in the front door. Automotive saw-zaws. sp?

Most rediculous thing I ever saw. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Fellas this just isn't happening at the boat ramps, but everywhere...... My good fishing buddy called me yesterday afternoon saying that someone cut off his cat off of his Toyota 4 Runner while his wife was in Tinsel Town watching an afternoon movie... She came out and started the truck and said it sounded like a tank... Then she noticed 3 tow trucks in the parking lot towing all 4 wheel drive SUV's.... So if you drive a vehicle that sits up off the ground you need to look out.... Platinum is going for high dollars these days and that's exactly what they are after.... Take warning you east ender's you're the targets now...

The truely sad thing is everyone is right about law enforcement. I had a 10hp motor stolen, all of the gear and my boat set to drift, this was in 03 that morning after calling every law enforcement agency in the county, we were told that the motor was probably already in TN. This came from a Sheriff, State Trooper, and wildlife enforcement officer. They all three said the same name as the primary suspect, quickly followed by we have never been able to get a judge to put that family in jail. I still get a call from the sheriff every 6 months wanting to know if we have found our motor yet. I finally said yea it came walking home all on it's own and appearently it had gotten drunk on ethenol and forgot where it lived.

A good friend and fishing buddy of mine was fishing at the Arnold's Creek boat ramp a week ago and had his exhaust cut slick into just above the convertor. Evidently the thief was interrupted and didn't get to finish the job. Funny thing is my buddy is a Rising Sun Policeman. It doesn't matter who you are or what you drive these crackheads are gonna get anything of value from you they can. It is a shame it has come to this, but with these fuel prices it is only gonna get worse. Vern

Being a gm dealer I've had my shae of offers...Needless to say I don't(and Can't) sell them. I've been offered as much as 120-150 dollars each.

    My suggestion to all is...
    1. If it;s a good tournament... have someone allocated to watch the parking lot
    2. If you not fishing a T, PICK a spot that has more "folk traffic"

I'm sad to say, it ain't going to stop...

They finally had something on FOX-19 News last night about this frickin problem. Yeah - the reporter said to keep on the lookout and be aware of where you park. Doesn't seem to matter where you park. Just report it if it doesn't look right.

Okay that's the last time I'll bump this. Thanks for all the views and thanks for keeping vigilant. Eventually we'll take a few of these creeps off the streets. I said a few. Not all.

Detain? I'm not big on sports, but isn't that what they made Louisville Sluggers for?

"I'd rather a thief take my whole truck than jack it up by taking something off of it. "

It scares me to think, from what I see from our court system, that if a guy stole my truck, he'd likely successfully sue me for the repairs that it needs.

Re: Catalytic Converters Stolen from Vehicles

Is there a general number we can post to call if something looks suspicious? Would that be Corps, Game Warden, or regular police? It wouldn't seem it would warrant a call to 911.
