    Trim problem!!!!

A buddy of mine is @ KY lake and when his 2002 Evenrude 225 Ficht Ram is trimmed up it slowly goes down, he has noticed some leakage. Can this be repaired or does it need to be replaced? He is worried about when running the moter will not hold in the up position and kick up. I'll be driving down there tomorrow. Could I pick up a new part or should I bring my boat, with the gas prices would it be about the same? Also if he took it to a dealer does anyone know what the cost would be? He is located by the 68/80 bridge. Thanks to everyone on this sight and you Dave to help keep it clean.

    Re: Trim problem!!!!

Sounds like the seals are bad in the trim unit. You can take it back up the road to Skippers located at the 68/80 bridge on Lake Barkley. Not sure how hard it is to do it yourself but that is the same thing my motor is doing and I am gonna try to fix it myself.
