what species are you looking to catch? I do not consider myself an expert, but the bass bite is good, and from what i have heard, the bluegill and cat fish bite has really been on.

We're coming to KY lake next week (12th-14th). This will only be my 2nd time on the lake in 10 years and am a fairly 'green' fisherman. What would be the best investment of my time in order to just boat a fair number of fish. I'm coming with my wife and we're not really trophy hunting, just want to have a good time. We will be launching at KenLake. When we fished the lake about 10 yrs ago we caught a bunch of fish and loved the area and can't wait to come back. Thanks in advance for your help.

Black bass, whites, crappie.
Thanks for the reply.
well first off..the lakes are going to be really crowded...BASS elite series..as well as a BFL on Sat...so be careful..if it was me and you just want to catch a bunch...get you some senko's and tubes, find you some good looking banks with rock/wood and start slinging...you will catch bass
If you want LM and SM, hit the ledges...they are just getting better everyday now....also check the grass beds on the east side early and late for topwater bite. Whites are coming off river ledges and creek channel ledges on the main lake...seeing guides dipping minnows on tight lines and vertically jigging with small spoons.
Thanks for all the help guys. I have about zero experience ledge fishing so that is still fairly intimidating. Again, appreciate the info.
