Thinking of going one last time tonight, Is it worth the 2 hour drive, or is the bite over? Thanks.
Someone posted about catching fish Sunday night. I went Friday night and only found a small window when the stipers were hitting. The water was 75 degrees then. The heat this week will surely drive that way up. I can't answer your question though, I've been wanting to know the same thing.
Anyone have insight on this? I would like to know if people think the stripers night bite will still be going on this Friday or Saturday night?
In years past, the action has been ok the first weekend in June, tapering off a lot by the second weekend, and almost non-existant by the 3rd weekend. Not sure what the lower water levels will do to this.

Headin down tonight to see if there still up.....puttin in at faithful fall creek again........Ill post in the morning on how we did. Not leaving London untill atleast 11:30 pm.
Put in @ Fall creek around 1:00am. Fished Ramsey point Area. Shad didnt come up good untill about 4:00. Bite only lasted about 30-45 min. Caught a nice 29inch walleye and another that was 24. 1 Largemouth, and 3 gars......Al came off thundersticks. Got my line broke once by what i presume was a striper and had 3-4 more good fish pull off. Action is dwindleing down in my opinion........A cold front is the only thing i can think of that may help the bite out in the next week or so....Water temp was 76....
That is about what I experienced last Friday night. I looked at the historical temperature charts and the water temperature on Cumberland right now is where it was at around May 20th last year and people were still catching stripers in to June with even warmer water. I don't know what is more of a controlling factor on the bite, temperature or the date. There should be a little bite left if temperature is the main factor.
Depends on the Alewifes. If they are still on the banks spawning, the stripers will be there. With warmer water, the stripers will not stay up long as the larger ones cannot take temps above 75 for any length of time.

Partner and I boated 2 keeper stripers and 5 walleye last night. Several other hits. 2:30-4:30 (eastern). Most striper action before 3:30. Short window, pick your banks wisely. Oh, and that Mhall guy is getting to be a pretty good net man![]()
