Ficht motor all opinions wanted

I am thinking about buying a boat with an Evinrude Ficht motor...I have heard a lot of bad things about these motors and personally know a few guys who have had them blow more than once....would like to here any opinions from Ficht owners

I would stay away, everyone I know of has had troubles with them. my 2 cents

every dealer ive talked to about them says if you find a boat with a ficht on it,then ya might as well find ya another boat...so id say look around a little bit more

if it is an omc ficht run fast.if it is a brp motor those were good and i know of 4 of them in 225hp that are as good as any.with that said i know of 2 of the omc ones that have alot of hours on them,both are 99's had all the updates and run like heck on tr20's..if the deal is good enough and they run good i would buy one,only2 kinds of motors ones that have blown and ones that are going to..
