I just started fishing this way and I am rigging the hook sinker right. but I am having trouble with the plastic staying on the hook, when I hook into a fish when they jump out of the water they are throwing the worm off. I`m using a bass pro hook made for drop shot, I am taking the plastic just a little threw the nose of the plastic but just can`t keep the plastic on. Is there a better way to do this. When I wacky rig I use a tool with an rubber O-ring around the plastic and that really works well, its worth the six bucks. That is what I use to wacky rig. Any ideas I would really be interested in.

get some heat shrink tubing from any hardware store and cut it in small swctions about 1/4 inch long. slip it over the head of the worm to where the hook will come out run a lighter over it so it fits snug on the worm. Then put the hook in like normal but push it out through the tubing. or just hook the worm in the bottom of the tubing straight through the top of the tubing this gives the worm more action. Hope this helps did for me.
I haven't caught that many on it but what type of plastic are you using? They might be too soft?I just started fishing this way and I am rigging the hook sinker right. but I am having trouble with the plastic staying on the hook, when I hook into a fish when they jump out of the water they are throwing the worm off. Although some will disagree, I don't see the need to nose hook the bait unless your fishing deep open water or sparse cover . I use a Gamy size 1 or 2 ewg hook and Texas rig it. Don't loose many worms or not get a good hook set.I just started fishing this way and I am rigging the hook sinker right. but I am having trouble with the plastic staying on the hook, when I hook into a fish when they jump out of the water they are throwing the worm off. Wacky rigging I just use 1/4" sections of fast food drinking straws. They come in soda size all the way up to milk shake and slushee
Thanks for the replies the straws and tubing are some really good ideas, any where you can curve the budget from buying bags and bags of plastic is great. I have been using yum dinger and senkos all 5 inch. Trying to save all I can, This week I have been spending on the boat, line on the rods, along with other things. My wife has been tapping her foot on the floor asking me if I am done yet, your never done, but I just smile and say I think I might be.
